A Physical Therapist is a licensed healthcare professional who helps individuals improve movement,
manage pain, and regain functional independence after injury, illness, or surgery.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive, identify, and prepare specimens such as blood, urine, and other body fluids, ensuring correct labeling and handling.
  • Carry out routine laboratory tests using approved methods and equipment, following established protocols for each assay.
  • Set up, operate, and perform basic upkeep on analyzers and other lab instruments to keep them functioning reliably.
  • Monitor quality controls, recognize when results appear inconsistent, and follow steps to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Enter and verify test findings in the laboratory information system and promptly alert clinicians to urgent or critical values.
  • Follow safety and infection-prevention procedures, including appropriate use of protective equipment and safe disposal of biohazardous waste.
  • Assist with inventory, reagent preparation, and general organization of the lab to support smooth daily operations.
